Think Before U Order - Lesson 1

As u know , Singapore is a food paradise . There are so mani local foods ard , but mani people always order wrongly . As a result , they fail to eat wat they want to eat firstly ,thus disappointed ....




AND SO , i think there is a NEED for this blog entry . And i cannot imagine , living in SG like 10 , 20 or 30 yrs , customers can order in a funny names ...
I shall start a very simple example : Curry Noodles ....





BASICALLY , There are 3 types of noodles ( based on 3 famous stalls in SG ) ,





They are ....


Name : Mian aka 面 aka 熟面

No's -

黃色的面
黃黃的面
Laska 面


Name : Chu Mee Fen aka 粗米粉

No's -
Laska 面
粗粗的面
白色的面
圓的面


Name : Mee Fen aka 細米粉

i am glad that no one makes mistake for this type ...





Now , we come to mixing . There are 3 types of combinations as well ...

1st -

Chu Mee Fen aka 粗米粉 + Mian aka 面 aka 熟面

2nd -

Mee Fen aka 細米粉 + Mian aka 面 aka 熟面

3rd -
Chu Mee Fen aka 粗米粉 + Mee Fen aka 細米粉

And i believe that no STALLS will allow u to mix 3 types of noodles , unless they are going to close or u eat urself ....

I think is also a duty of customer , to THINK wat types of noodles they wan before decide to order . Else , tease by vendors or being laugh at ....

One more example , ( is kinda of pissed off with the attiude of that kinda of customer )

Customer : Uncle , i wan one bowl .
Uncle : Wat kind of noodles u wan arh ?
Customer : MIAN LA !~!~!~!

( Machiam know wat u wan to eat like that . if do , can buy 4-D and strike first prize , still selling ! )


Before i end this entry , i got a interesting quote to share with ( in case i forget it ... )

Fried fish Chu Mee Fen Soup ... Yum Yum !

Unqiue Fried Fish ( Is not that kinda deep fried one ...) He recommend not to put condense milk nxt time , as won't get to taste the original fish soup base .
